Quote of the Day: "Ugh, my butt and stomach. I feel like I need to diarrhea and vomit at the same time." -RT
We took the obligatory group picture at Torrey Pines Beach, unfortunately for us the weather alternated between misting and light rain all morning. Actually, due to heavy rain at 05:30, we had an extra hour of sleep in the hopes of avoiding the rain. It wasn't till 10:20 that we finally set off toward Huntington Beach and Los Angeles.Roommates for three years now.
Oceanside, CA: lunch stop.
Still lovin' my Giant :)
Still smilin' after ascending yet another coastal hill.
Somewhere along the Pacific Coast Highway 1
Huntington Beach: sunset dinner
**********
Overall, a successful first ride. We were blessed with pleasant weather after the initial light rain in the late morning. The last group reached the dinner site around 17:40, so just about seven hours after departure from San Diego. Our total mileage was just under 80 miles. Tomorrow, we have a non-riding day to recuperate. The big activities will be a lunch event at the USC Medical Center and dinner at Haven Gastropub in Pasadena. Friday we head east toward Las Vegas.
Is it good for you bikes to be on the sand? And what a view! It is so beautiful. I hope you're having fun, guh! :)
ReplyDeleteLol we didn't ride in the sand, this was just for a group shot. We all carried our bikes down to and up from the beach.
